Oregon Battle of the Books

We have participated in the wonderful program consistently for the past 4 years in middle school. With help from our PTO we purchase multiple copies of 16 preselected titles chosen by a committee of librarians, teachers and volunteers. Our students form teams and each one reads on average 4 books from October - January. Teams  battle in a game show like fashion during lunch until a school champion team is named and this team goes on to compete at the regional competition. This program is available in high school as well and we have participated when we can field a team.
